Saying I do not like the lack of lines separating the tabs is an understatement. I don't know why but it is driving me nuts and triggering my anxiety and I'm not someone that would normally say stuff like that but it is.

Is there a way to make the tabs look like they used to with clear black lines between each tab?!?

Hi,

We bring a modernized and differentiated look to tabs since Firefox 89 in order to create a signature Firefox look and experience. This major redesign will help us enable more use cases and features in the future.

Thank you for your reply Seburo. I realize that it is included in version. Is there no way to turn it back? A setting? A theme? Anything to make the black lines on tabs come back?

YES! Switching Proton off reverted it. I feel SO MUCH BETTER looking at that now and seeing the clearly defined lines. THANK YOU. (Please don't remove that.)

Thank you, cor-el! It was driving me nuts, too, and I'm so glad to have those lines back. I just hope they keep it. Why is it that when any website tries to improve things, they always make it worse. Never fails.
