Reading my e-mail with Mozilla Thunderbird

I have used Mozilla Thunderbird to view my mail which used to be a @comhem.se- mail. Now Comhem is closing down their webmail and I have got a gmail account. Is it possible to use Mozilla Thunderbird to view this new account? I like Thunderbird much better than gmail when it comes to making address lists, filing my mails and other things.
