Thank you for your prompt reply. I want to get rid of an unwanted web page, that keeps popping up.
Would it be possible for you to give us a name (or the URL) of that web page ?
This could be caused by malware, like an extension that has been installed without your knowledge.
In that case I would advice you to go Firefox's menu (the three horizontal dots in the upper right corner, right under the closing X); click on that and then on 'Add-ons'. That will take you to the Add-ons Manager, where you can click on 'Extensions'. If you see anything listed there that you didn't install yourself : you should see a 'remove' button that you can click on.
Then I would ask you to take a look at this article :
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware
And I would tell you to please run all malware scans that are listed there.
But maybe this web page you are talking about has nothing to do with the above mentioned malware ..... (?)
If you could give us a name or URL : that would be great !

Hello shallotman,
Your question "how do I uninstall an unwanted tab " makes me think that you don't just want to close a tab (you'd do that by clicking on the closing X on the tab in question), but that maybe you want to get rid of a certain web page ?
Could you please explain what exactly it is that you want to
uninstall ?
Is it some web page that (e.g.) seems to be taking over your home page ?
Other ?
By the way : you are not a moron if you're not an IT specialist ! And age is nothing but a number .....
Thank you for your prompt reply. I want to get rid of an unwanted web page, that keeps popping up.
