Using Comcast POP account ...Thunderbird connects and only one message is received then stops downloading messages . Running windows 10. Have the latest version of Thunderbird and my virus software is not blocking Thunderbird. Please help.

It might not be blocking Thunderbird, but what you describe is a common result of an anti virus issue.
Disable anti virus email checking. Download your mail Restart the email checking if you so desire. (personally I really doubt it servers a purpose)
The usual cause is an email the anti virus does not like resulting in the anti virus quietly failing, hence the single email. It does not mean you have an email with a virus, just one that makes your ant virus barf.
