Why is the latest up date disabling my Kaspersky Protecion addon?
Why is the latest up date to V43 disabling my Kaspersky Protecion addon. I paid a lot of money for Kaspersy which is first rate & Firefox is disabling it. Why are you doing this?

Hi
I would recommend that you ask Kaspersky about this issue.
The changes to add-ons were made available in plenty of time or many people to update or fix their add-ons and Kasperksy will be best placed to give you a timescale of when they plan to update theirs.
Enter about:config into your Firefox address bar Click the I'll be careful button Find xpinstall.signatures.required in the list Right click the preference Select Toggle until the value is false
Do you work for Mozilla? I have asked Kaspersky. They say Mozilla are responsible. My Kaspersky addons worked before the lastest Firefox update. The update message was that Kaspersy addons had been disabled. I am sick of Moxilla denying responsiblity for this. FIREFOX did it not Kaspersy. You're saying blame Ford for Mobil substandard engine oil......... Moxilla is to blame so FIX IT.
Kaspersky told me about the about:config dodge & I have that but that's not the point. I should not have to edit Firefox settings becuse the latest update screwed my Kaspersy addons. FIREFOX did it & Mozilla should put it right.
I've stopped all Firefox updates & will get another browser. I've had Firefox for years but I'm sick of it damaging Kaspersy addons & not accepting responsibility. Mozilla are making problems for Kaspersy to fix & this is not acceptable. Why are you doing this?
Hi
No, I do not work for Mozilla. Like many of the people that help users in Mozilla Support, I am a volunteer contributor.
Required add-on signing for extensions is new in Firefox version 43. Back in February 2015 it was announced that, for a safer add-on experience, all extensions will have to be verified and signed by Mozilla before they can be installed. More insight into that decision is contained in Mozilla's April 2015 blog post.
Extensions hosted on addons.mozilla.org are automatically signed. If an extension you wish to use is distributed by a third-party, it must be signed before you can install it. Unsigned extensions that you have already installed will be automatically disabled. Please ask the add-on developer or vendor if an updated and signed version of the add-on is available. You can also visit addons.mozilla.org to see if there's a signed version of the add-on you can install.
This signing requirement is mandatory in regular release and beta versions of Firefox. For testing purposes, it will still be possible to configure Firefox Developer Edition and Nightly versions to run unsigned extensions. For more information, please see Add-on signing in Firefox and https://wiki.mozilla.org/Add-ons/Extension_Signing.
You can visit the mozilla.addons.user-experience group to further discuss add-on signing.
Hello to all.
Seburo is correct.
In next release of Kaspersy, probably the first in 2016 (MR1 2016), the problem will be solved from Kaspersy.
please see : http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=340515&hl=FIREFOX
thank you
English translation of that Kaspersky forum posting.
Who has the latest version of Firefox 43.0 is notified that the add Kaspersky Protection, for lack of signature, it is disabled by default. This will happen to all the other add-ons without digital signature. To work around this problem open Firefox, then in the address bar, type about: config and do enter. Click "I'll be careful, I promise" smile.gif xpinstall.signatures.required move to the line (one of the last), and double-click the line to change setting from true to false, then restart Firefox. This operation must be redone at the opening of the Safe Money that acts as a browser in itself for the future version 44.0 this will apparently not possible, but the next version to come out Kaspersky MR1 2016, "should" have the component Kaspersky Protection signed for Firefox solve the root problem. It does when the Protection components Kaspersky and Kaspersky Password Manager are not compatible and will not work with the 64-bit version of Firefox that, in the absence of solutions, we do not recommend installation. Other browsers, Chrome or Internet Explorer are not affected by the problem
Sounds like Kaspersky waited too long to submit that add-on to Mozilla or didn't submit it at all, and were "caught with their pants down" when Firefox 43 was released.
Nice way to support their product for a browser that has like 10% market share. And not planning on supporting Firefox Win 64-bit builds for the "Kaspersky Password Manager" ...
Right, you don't work for Mozilla. In that case you don't know why Mozilla designed the update that destroyed my Kaspersky addons. All you're doing is parroting the company line. Far from making Firefox safer it's made it much less safe by disabling the safety features thoughtfully provided by the Kaspersy software I paid a lot of money for. As I cannot trust Firefox I'll use Internet Explorer &/or Chrome in future. Until I sort an alternetive out I've stopped Firefox updates. I don't know what Mozilla's game is but I don't trust them or Firefox any more. It's a pity someone responsible for doing all the damage doesn't come here to explain what &/or why instead of leaving the automatons to waffle away in their stead, & in my view, making things worse.
If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.
I'm leaving feedback & questions here so what's the point of tucking it away anywhere else? I've now learned that leaving anything anywhere is a waste of time which is what I think the Mozilla aim is....ignore users & they'll go away!!
The only people to help me have been Kaspersky staff with the about config edit. My point it, Kaspersky is a well-known & respected company. They do not let dodgy addons out. What I want to be told why Mozilla feels the need to disable my paid for, working, first class safety addons ?
All I've seen so far is inane claptrap from the automatons. Where do they get it from? By what authority do they spew it out? This whole experience has shown me what a joke this website is! Are you a Mozilla employee? I don't know who you are or by what authority you say what you do. All I've detected is you want me to shut up & go away.
Mozilla user care does not exist.
I've started using Opera & it has thoughtfully imported all my bookmarks from Firefox, which wants to know why it's not the default browser. I wish I could works out how to tell it it's because it disables my Kaspersky addons.
