Menu Bar, Navigation Tool Bar, Roboform Tool Bar and Tabs are visible and functioning. However there is nothing below the tabs and you see the Desktop. I have reset Firefox and then deleted and reinstalled it without solving the problem

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

See:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Sorry, I was apparently not clear about the problem. I am not having a problem connecting with the server. The tabs show that I am in fact connecting to servers, but there is no screen observable below the tabs.

The problem is resolved in Safe Mode, but I am unable to follow up since I cannot see the Add On Manager although the Tab shows that I have connected.

Thanks

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox if you can start Firefox in Safe Mode.

If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)
