I have been using thunderbird for years now with no issues at all. within the last month or so i started getting errors that my outgoing pw was incorrect. Then things seemed ok for a bit and as of today I just cant send anything at all. It will download mail just fine. But absolutely will not send.

After checking all the settings, as shown below, and triple verifying everything is correct for the server and settings, ports etc. I cant figure this out. I have the exact same settings in my iphone mail and it downloads and sends mail just fine. I can send an email from the phone and get it on my desktop through thunderbird, but i can not send anything back... Both have had the same settings for years. But the thunderbird app just decided it no longer wants to accept my outgoing password. I have deleted the saved password within thunderbird and even after re entering it when the popup comes up, it just refuses to accept it. I have a feeling this may have been one of the prior TB updates???
Here are some images. Can anyone help figure this out please... It's driving me bonkers

Hello dear forum Here are the details: Account type: Microsoft Exchange (via OWL) Antivirus software and firewall used: Bitdefender I have the following problem: I copied the mbox files from the active account (profile) to Local Folders (as described in some forums), both with and without *.msf files (seems this makes no difference to the problem). Then I start Thunderbird, and all folders and subfolders appear in Local Folders. However, when I go into one of these copied folders or subfolders, it only displays a single email. The copied folder is the same size as the original, but no other emails are displayed, and this is repeated in every subfolder. I employed the repair function with no result. The import/export tool NG only copies half of the emails. The total is 4.25 GB. I can only copy the emails manually via copy/paste, but this is very error-prone and takes a very long time. Has anyone had experience copying mbox files and managed to do it successfully? I would be very grateful for any advice.

Subject: Thunderbird 152 – IMAP Junk messages are not automatically moved to Spam (T-Online IMAP) I am using Thunderbird 152 on Windows 11 with a Deutsche Telekom (T-Online) IMAP account. Problem When I manually mark a message as Junk (toolbar button, context menu or Junk column), the message briefly disappears from the Inbox and immediately reappears. It is marked as Junk, but it is not moved to the Spam folder. If I disable the option "Move new junk messages to:", the message remains in the Inbox and is marked as Junk, without the brief disappearance. Manual Move to → Spam always works correctly. Environment • Windows 11 • Thunderbird 152 • T-Online IMAP • ESET Internet Security • Only one Spam folder exists on the T-Online server. Troubleshooting already performed • Created a completely new IMAP account. • Verified Junk settings. • Verified the Spam folder path: imap://...@secureimap.t-online.de/Spam • Manual move to Spam works correctly. • Rebuilt the folder cache. • Recreated folderTree/folder cache files. • Performed IMAP resynchronization. • Tested with ESET mail protection enabled and disabled (no change). • Checked profile configuration. • Verified that the IMAP server directory setting does not change the behaviour. Additional observation The profile contains two IMAP cache directories: • secureimap.t-online.desecureimap.t-online-1.de The current IMAP directory does not contain local Spam/Junk cache files, while the old "-1" directory still contains: • Spam • Spam.msf • Junk • Junk.msf Thunderbird also displays a greyed-out, inaccessible Spam/Junk folder which cannot be selected, subscribed or removed. Question Is this a known issue in Thunderbird 152 related to IMAP Junk handling or old IMAP cache migration after changing an account from POP to IMAP? If not, which log or additional information would help identify the cause?

PS: The POP account worked correctly before the migration to IMAP. The problem started only after switching from POP to IMAP. Rudolf.weinzierl-landshut@t-online.de

New W11 Pro pc, so new installation of Thunderbird. All profiles and folders moved over ok, but the Bin folder is an issue (main Gmail account IMAP). In my previous Tbird installation, I was able to right click the Bin folder, and be given the option of emptying said folder. Not now. The Spam folder does have the Empty option. Pics illustrate the folder list, what happens when I right click the Bin folder, and what happens when I right click the Spam folder, which does have the 'Empty Spam' option. I can highlight the messages in the Bin folder and delete them that way, but the right click option is shorter, easier... The only item I can find in the Thunderbird help pages tell me to delete the Trash and Trash msf folders in the profile - tried this twice, with no difference. It's a little frustrating... Any help would be welcomed, I guess I'm missing something really simple...

Thunderbird Calendar cannot select custom sound for reminder. The browse button to select custom sound does not work.

Same issue was brought up by someone else 3 years ago here: https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/1414126

The provided solution which worked for the user (on TB 102):

Settings/General, Config. editor, paste mail.biff.play_sound.url in the search, then click the Reset icon for that preference, then see if the Browse button works.

This no longer works on TB 152.01, so cant use longer duration custom sound. The default sound is a micro-second blip that is easy to miss.

Hope to find solution. Thanks!

I use Thunderbird to access my Gmail accounts. Gmail is confirgured for IMAP and I am able to access all of my E-mail accounts ... so that is good.

However, I do have one issue: When I delete an E-mail in Thunderbird, it moves to the TRASH folder and I empty that daily. However, when I go to Gmail, I can see that they are STILL in "All Mail". If I access All Mail in Thunderbird and delete messages, they reappear.

The only way I am able to get rid of them for good is to access them in Gmail. If I don;t, the All MAil folders grow like crazy and messages thgat I deleted are still there .. some were several years old.

Question: Is there a way to set up Thunderbird so that when an E-mail is deleted in Thunderbird, that it takes it out of "All Mail"?

Accidentally moved IMAP Gmail label to Local Folders - Emails disappeared, Local Folder empty GONE EVERYWHERE!

Hello everyone, I am hoping someone can help me recover some EXTREMELY important emails for a legal matter. I was trying to export an entire nested Gmail label (WORK/TNC/… (lees meer)

Hello everyone,

I am hoping someone can help me recover some EXTREMELY important emails for a legal matter. I was trying to export an entire nested Gmail label (WORK/TNC/TNC DISPUTE) to PDF.

It's a lot of emails spanning from April 2024 that I had painstakingly been going through and labeling to get them ready to print to use as evidence for a work dispute. When faced with the task of having to print all those emails to pdf, one by one, I wanted to chew my own arm off!

I'm convinced there must be another way to bulk print to pdf......and so I went down a few rabbit holes in search of my quick fix.....(I'm not trying to be lazy, I just have very little time left to get this done, and right now I'm losing the will to live if my reality is that I will be busy with this till the end of time.)

I read different threads and questions over the internet and found information that led me to Thunderbird. (Hi, Thunderbird :). I know there are paid apps or extensions that can bulk print to pdf, but I unfortunately don't have the money to pay for them (i.e. the work dispute - salary has been frozen for over 2 years and resignation was denied, so no income and held hostage by my employer - the emails I have lost are literally my future!). Sorry, enough of the why.....

I DID THIS:

So I read that I need to to create a folder in Thunderbird's "Local Folders" with the same name, and simply drag and drop the label from the original label to the local folder label (I did all of this in Thunderbird.

Unfortunately, this went VERY wrong. At first it seemed like it was doing something, but it didn't really do anything that I am aware of.....There was nothing in the local folder I had created and dragged the label to, there was nothing in the original label folder (everything was empty). I died! Then comforted myself with the fact that it's still in GMAIL.....that was the naive, optimistic me talking..... Headed over to Gmail, saw my label name, sigh of relief, clicked on the label name.....DIED 10000000000000 x over.......I continued to cry for the next 4 hours...

.That was the 12th of June.....I'm still trying to get them back.....I have been able to find a few bits of info here and there.....I just don't know how to get them back into Gmail for me to never try be so foolish again!!! (Until someone maybe shows me how to bulk print to PDF?????)....

Here is the current situation and the technical details of what I've found so far:

What happened:

Thunderbird executed a "Move" command instead of a "Copy".

The TNC DISPUTE label is in my Gmail web interface (the emails are not in the label, nor the the Trash and none of my settings anywhere are set to delete permanently etc., on exit).

The Local Folder in Thunderbird shows up on my screen, but it is completely empty.

What I have discovered in the background:

Account Type: IMAP connected to Gmail (*********@gmail.com). (i've replaced my email address name with stars to not put my private email on a public site)

The Local Files: I found the tracking path imap://**********%40gmail.com@imap.gmail.com/WORK/TNC/TNC DISPUTE. I also found the raw file directories containing TNC DISPUTE (no extension) and the TNC DISPUTE.msf index file.

The roadblock I am hitting:

I read that deleting the corrupted .msf index file while Thunderbird is closed will force it to rebuild the index and potentially reveal the emails. However, at first I couldn't safely get into the folder to do this:

When I clicked "Open Folder" from Help > More Troubleshooting Information, Windows threw an error: "Explorer.EXE - There was a problem sending the command to the program."

When I try to bypassed Thunderbird and use the Windows Run dialog with %appdata%\Thunderbird\Profiles, Windows threw another path error and refused to open it.

I ended up reinstalling Thunderbird and it fixed the access profile issue and I can now access where the data gets saved from Thunderbird.....

I just don't know what to do from here to get my (previously local foldered misshaped moved) folder back in my Gmail. (safely - to not corrupt everything or worse....delete it permanently.....)

The details of the missing emails (contents of the label that did copy to the local drive I think):

I'm trying to add a Roadrunner email account to a new instance of Thunderbird (I bought a new computer).

The Roadrunner account already exists in my Thunderbird account and on the previous instance of Thunderbird.

When I attempt to add the Roadrunner account, Thunderbird rejects the Roadrunner account's password. Note that I can use the password get into the account on the Roadrunner site, but Thunderbird won't accept it. Of course,

Thunderbird's error message is vague to the point of being worthless, so I don't know why the Roadrunner account is being rejected.

What am I doing wrong?

PRELUDE: I have several email accounts. All accounts display properly, except one. Yes, this is similar to my question about bottom of the far left [of emails] list of emails - but this is different.

On the far left of Thunderbird is a list of all my email accounts with "Inbox" etcetera. Each email account shows it's Inbox/Sent/Deleted/ except for 1 account. The problem email account only shows it's Title and Inbox northing else. Yes, I tested it and sent emails to it, and used the problem email account to send, create a draft, and they don't show..

My wife has been using Thunderbird successfully for many years (and we also donate to Mozilla from time to time) - she's been using her email account ([edited] @frontier.com) for at least 15 years, even after it was transferred over to the Yahoo email server a couple of years ago. Also, she has Windows 11.

Just in the last week, she has experienced serious problems (messages duplicating themselves over & over, & then not being to get any more new email at all (last email she got was on June 28th).

We've upgraded to the latest version of Thunderbird, & I even completely uninstalled & re-installed Thunderbird. I'm at the end of my knowledge & tried everything I know. I'd even be willing to pay for someone's services if we can get these problems fixed.

Thanks in advance - my name is Peter Ryall (cell #[edited]) and my email is [edited] @gmail.com, since she's not able to get new email right now.

I've done it before using ctrl-A and Print and got the date, sender and their address, and the subject line (I think in a csv file). I've since changed from Windows 10 to 11 and can't remember what I printed to. Trying it now and printing to PDF yields only the first entire message, but I don't want the message, I just want the sender (and date).
