I set Firefox 10.0 not to remember history. Lately, however, I keep finding my preference reset to "Use Custom Settings for History." Has some program hijacked my preferences?

As long as your history is not being remembered you have no problem. "Custom Settings . . " reflects what you have set - it doesn't set anything.

In Tools>Privacy you should see Custom Settings and Remember my Download History should not be checked.
