I am unable to find on the forums a useful response to how to completely disable tabbed browsing in Firefox. I find it nearly incomprehensible that Firefox would force me to use tabs, but the unchecking all the options in the Tabs section of Options does not in fact turn off tabs.

Sorry, currently there is no way to turn off tabbed browsing in Firefox. The old Tab Killer extension wasn't updated beyond the 3.6 versions.
