Have been told to optimize I.E. browser but I only use FF do I optimize this?

Hello, 

   To assist re opening an Hotmail account I have been told to optimize my" internet explorer browser". I do not use I.E. I only use Firefox as a browser.
     Optimizing involves clearing cookies, browsing history, delete offline content etc.   If I do this on FF will this be O.K. or must I use I.E?

"Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now" "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies" --- Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
