Can't download pdfs

I can't download some pdfs, notably my bank statements. I CAN download some pdfs. Eg, I can download my car manual (although it's a process of downloading it to my Google Drive). However, trying to download my bank statements, Firefox gives me no options at all, and, indeed, I get an error message. Yet I CAN download my bank statements using Google Chrome! I've carefully checked all my Firefox settings, but nothing seems to address this problem. I've spoken to my bank, and they don't know why I can't download them either. When I try to download the statements, I get a screen saying it can't give me a 'Preview' (see attached screenshot), but there's a 'Download button. When I click that I get a white screen with the 'error' message:

The preview fails most likely because that PDF's content is the error on the right so it's not valid.

Sounds like something's removing the credentials needed to get the files. Does the same happen when you restart in Troubleshoot Mode from Help menu to make sure no addons are tampering with the bank site?

Maybe instead of previewing/opening you want to skip to downloading right away if the banking site responds with a preview instead of a download, by right–clicking the links leading to the statements and trying "Save link as…" to see if they provide the correct file that way.

Since this is not a location anyone can open to help you with, what other "some PDFs" you're having trouble with that are publicly accessible, to perhaps check what they do and how they do it?

Possible breakthrough, jbr! On your advice, when I restart in Troubleshoot Mode from Help menu, I can download the document successfully. Thank you. So, yes, it would seem some addons must be tampering with the bank site? Do I just have to accept that (because I only use Addons I've selected), or is there some work-around I can apply?
