why will Thunderbird not accept a password for the Outgoing Server

all of a sudden Thunderbird would not "Send" any email ... a box comes up wanting the password for the Outgoing Server but Thunderbird will not accept the password which is correct and has actually been used before when this same problem happened

Exactly the same problem. And it worked two weeks ago. I changed my Yahoo app password and I can receive email but not send telling me the password is bad. Yahoo even sent me an email saying the app password was in use.

This problem appears to have been solved by phoning the ISP company and from them getting a "new"/revised/updated/substitute Outgoing Server designation.
