can't download games through google play store

I go to google playstore to try to load games. Playstore won't open until I go into firefox. A screen appears saying I must sign into my google acct. When I try to sign in w/ my gmail acct address or phone # on acct (verified) & I press the next button and the SAME screen asking me to sign into my google acct. How google accts are valid & verified by google. Google says it's "firefox not letting me load the games". I'm confused. Please assist.
