I have Google as my search option but it is being hijacked by Bing which I already unchecked in Search options and it is very frustrating.

I try to search something in Google and it gets put into Bing which I am hating more and more everyday. I have Bing unchecked in options and Google as preferred search. I could not find "dsengine.cfg" in program files as previously suggested.

You can check for recently installed suspicious or unknown extensions.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
