Default PDF application (Adobe Acrobat) for browser changes back to browser's PDF reader by itself?

After I override the default PDF application to Adobe Acrobat, after a few cycles of booting my laptop, the default PDF application reverts back to the browser's PDF reader.

This isn't a firefox issue but a user install issue. Having more then one of the same Adobe software is the cause of the problem not from the Browser itself. You need to choose either Acrobat or Reader. You can't have both running or installed which is why your having the problem your having.
