Hello, I'm having trouble with my browser.

When I first start up my computer, my browser's fine. I can still close tabs. Once my laptop sleeps for a few minutes, my browser's getting trouble.

I open the browser to find out that the close tab button is gone. I can still close it to through ctrl-w and through right click close tab but it's still unsettling that I can't close it the traditional way.

This is my browser.

Sorry, here's a better picture.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
