how do i set up firefox so that certain websites can no longer be accessed
I would like to prohibit some websites so if anyone using my laptop cannot use firefox to do so, I've looked at options and i can see i can block pop ups but thats not the same as not allowing a website to load.
can you advise how i do this please?
regards,
andy

Hi
There are a couple of ways to do this;
- Within Firefox, you may wish to use a content filter such as ProCon Latte Content Filter that may have the ability for you to add certain words or phrases particular to a certain website.
- Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may have parental controls available for you to use. Often you may be able to add to these by specifying particular websites that you may wish to be blocked. Your ISP will have more details on this.
I hope that this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look into a different solution for you.
The most basic way is by using the Hosts file in your operating system. Will block for all browsers installed on the device. http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_%28file%29
