Toolbar items at the far right of the URL bar get collapsted into a menu...sometimes

more options

Holy hell it's a pain in the ass to get to this form! Please make it easier to ask questions! Ease of getting support is a major usability issue and FF is the worst at support right now. I'm so frustrated I'm not even comfortable using my real email address.

Any toolbar items that I put on the far right of the url menu bar will, at random times, get collapsed into a dropdown. I do not want this. It's also really annoying that it only happens periodically. If I go back into "customize" it will reset to showing each individual icon in the bar but then at some random point in the future (prior to a browser restart) it will collapse them into a dropdown icon. How do I prevent this?

Sorry about the question flow. Usually people report that the suggestions help answer their question, but if you see a lot of irrelevant articles, that definitely can be annoying.

Regarding the toolbar, if there are more buttons than will fit, Firefox generates an "overflow" drop-down, with >> as the icon on that button. Does it not depend fairly consistently on the width of the window? Randomness is always troubling, it suggests something is growing wider in some cases.
