Each time I start my laptop and start thunderbird then the e-mails are downloading all over again. Like they don`t cache. Then my laptop freezes becaus it are to much e-mails. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance!

Do you end up with multiple copies of each? (I know that sounds like a dumb question but I just want to be clear / certain.)

In server settings, have you selected Leave Messages on Server? That might be part of problem.
