Each time I upgrade, Firefox won't stop asking to be default browser
Each time I upgrade to the newest version, Firefox asks if I want it to be my default browser, and invites me to take the tour. I check the box to stop asking me, but it continues asking each time I open, and the invitation to the tour never goes away. These are so annoying I only use Firefox for one web site I use to grade college students an online course I teach. Windows 8.1 Thanks and regards, and happy holidays!

Look in Options > Advanced > General and see if "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup" is checked. If so, uncheck it.
You can check for problems with preferences.
Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.
You may also have to remove the compatibility.ini file.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
