My cache gets dumped every restart
PLEASE STOP THIS FEATURE
I understand the possibility of a cache corruption, but you MUST UNDERSTAND that NOT ALL people has lightspeed internet.
I browse 60+ tabs at once and Black Ops 2 decides to fuck my computer up, IT DOES NOT MAKE ANY ******* SENSE why firefox should DELETE ALL cache data and make me download all of my webpages AGAIN.
I don't mind viewing a broken looking HTML page when resuming from a system crash.
Hope you guys also learn some logic by not allowing "cache fixer" as an extension.

Let me see if I understand what happened. Firefox crashed or had to be shut down. When you restarted Firefox, it automatically restored your earlier session of 60+ tabs.
When you restore an earlier session -- either after a crash, or on demand -- Firefox by default will reload one tab per window, and when you visit the other tabs, it will reload them upon viewing.
I'm not aware of any way to avoid that. Maybe someone else will have an idea. For what it's worth, when you reload a tab, Firefox first asks the server whether the page has changed before downloading it again.
What is cache fixer and what's wrong with it? Did you post a review to share your thoughts with others?
Cache Fixer is (was) en extension that allows to keep the cache in cases when Firefox didn't close properly.
The problem is that Firefox keeps the cache index files in memory and those file aren't saved when Firefox doesn't close properly and the cache is invalidated to avoid consistency issues.
The cache works if on a normal shutdown (press X button on firefox) and shut the computer down.
Upon restarting all 60+ tabs all reload from the cache (except facebook which isn't compatible)
But when my computer crashes (BSOD, forced shutdown) etc and firefox is open, upon startup firefox does NOT load webpages from cache. I checked why and it's empty (dumped). I have to redownload all webpage and image again.
The cache fixer is disabled by an admin.
I don't mind the consistency issue, if I see a webpage broken after a crash I can just reload THAT ONE tab, not my whole 60+

i just had another crash and all I like to say to whoever made the decision to dump ALL the cache contents after firefox didn't close properly:

The volunteers here cannot change how this feature works.
If you want to troubleshoot why you have blue screens or feel the need to force quit Firefox, then please start a new question specific to those issues. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/desktop/fix-problems
If you understand the security implications and find this feature intolerable, you could revert to an earlier version of Firefox that worked differently. (I don't know what version that would be.)
What do you mean "security" it is apparent that this feature is built to firefox to annoy the **** out of users.
And secondly, HOW can a developer have a SUPPORT FORUM that they themselves DOESN'T EVEN READ?
This is complete ********.

The developers are primarily working off the Bugzilla site, where they have reports of bugs, requests for enhancement, and a backlog longer than you can imagine.
User advocates review this forum and file bugs for problems that appear to affect a lot of users, or which are particularly severe.
I think you've made your desire clear. If you can't tolerate the situation, you should use a browser that better suits your needs. Abuse their support volunteers instead. ;-)
