When I click on Firefox, the dialog box says:

Offline mode/ Firefox is currently in offline mode and can't browse the Web. Uncheck the "Work Offline" menu item, then try again.

I went to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html and got the previous major version (3.6.17) and am back online :)
