Hi. I have several email accounts & I would like to temporarily disable one of them in my desktop version of Thunderbird email, so that those emails stop coming in. But I don't want to get rid of it entirely. Is there a way, or can you suggest anything, please? I am running an older version of Thunderbird, 115.18.0esr, as there were some things I didn't like about the newer version. Kind regards, Jo

There is a fix planned for [that](https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1647632#c6), but it will be some months before that happens. Meanwhile, here are some things to try: - go to TB menu > Account Settings > Account > Server Settings and disable these options: - Check for new messages at startup - Check for new messages every X minutes - Allow immediate server notification when new messages arrive - under Spam Settings, uncheck 'Enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account' Note that accessing any folder in the disabled account will cause a connection and message fetch from the server. If it fails to deactivate: - see if your address book and/or calendar are trying to make connections - check TB menu > Help > Troubleshooting Information to see what accounts and calendars are listed there

Thank you. I appreciate the fast response. That has solved my problem for now. Although, I don't have an 'Allow immediate server notification when new messages arrive' option in server settings. I also noticed that of the 4 email accounts, only the one I want to stop does not have the 'Synchronization & Storage' option. Just my luck lol.

- Allow immediate server notification when new messages arrive

If it fails to deactivate:

- see if your address book and/or calendar are trying to make connections

- check TB menu > Help > Troubleshooting Information to see what accounts and calendars are listed there

set server address to 0.0.0.0

Then that must be a POP account.

Yes. Not sure why when all my others are IMAP. I'll change it. Thank you for spotting that.
