Twitch stopped working in Windows 7.
05/20/2025 twitch streams stopped working, image disappeared, sound is there. Also working videos that are on twitch, not streaming. In windows 10 everything works.

"Open a new empty tab and write in the address bar "about:config", it'll give you a warning not to mess around with the settings, click "accept the risk and continue"
Then search there "layout.css.has-selector.enabled" and set it to true"

Hi
As far as I am aware, Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft. You may wish to consider using a more recent and currently supported version of Windows.
I'm already used to Windows 7, I've had this operating system for many years. I also have Windows 10 for programs and games that don't work in Windows 7.
Two days ago, Twitch stopped working, Microsoft hasn't supported Windows 7 for many years either. Twitch works in the old Opera. In this version of Opera, Twitch worked a little worse than in Firefox, so I have reasons to watch Twitch in this browser.
Refer to Firefox users on Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 moving to Extended Support Release: > Firefox version 115 is the last supported Firefox version for users of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 > Mozilla is providing critical security updates through the Firefox ESR channel up until the end of ESR version 115, August 2025. I doubt Twitch will be supporting outdated browsers, and your issue isn't security-related so no chances it will be fixed in ESR 115.
Twitch supports an old version of Opera. This version that I have has not been updated for at least six months.
So Twitch stopped working because of the Firefox security update? How can I see when the last update was? How can I roll back the update?
This is a new update firefox issue, people on reddit found a solution, i made a video turtorial how to fix it on youtube here: youtube link

That actually worked for me too. I had no idea that selector was disabled by default. Appreciate the heads-up about the risks though, definitely worth being cautious with about:config changes.
Hello RikiTikiTak,
It should be fixed now with default settings, as Twitch has reverted their change that triggered the issue.
Years go by, the problem is still the same, different browsers display the same sites differently.
Thanks for the answer, I returned the settings to default.
