I tried to download a file and got an error that said "exceeded the maximum number of connections to this server" so I researched it and it told me to type about:Config in the address bad and I would get a configuration page that said "Advanced Preferences". I didn't get that page, I only got a page with a long list of things I didn't understand but I found "http.max-persistent-connections-per-server" and I changed that from 6 to 15. Will that help? I've never ever had problems downloading files or multiple files before. What else should I do so I don't run into this problem anymore? I didn't see anything in Firefox Settings that would help configure the settings.

Keep in mind that it isn't polite to download that many files at the same time from one server as that can prevent others from connecting to this server. There might have been hanging requests to this server or the server was busy doing other things that make Firefox open a new connection.

Free download services often limit the number of simultaneous downloads per IP address.

The filehosts I use don't limit the number of downloads at all. I can download as many files as I want simultaneously. In another forum I got a reply to change my max-connections-per-server to 1 instead of 6. I don't understand how that can help. Is there a way to configure connections per server in Firefox Settings?

This isn't a "free" download service. I pay for it and never had problems with it before.
