I would like to know how I can middle click with my scroll wheel to open a bookmark in a new tab, but not be dumped straight into that new tab. I like opening multiple tabs at once before going into them.

Go to about:config and change browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground to true. You might also want to change browser.bookmarks.openInTabClosesMenu to false.
