Currently @ Ver. 102.0.1 Problem remains. Since the update to 102.0 my Win10 PC has problems with the page update. When the scroll slider gets near the bottom the page, new images begin to load. This reload results in 3-15+ newly loaded Fb posts scrolling past so fast as to be invisible. I have to keep my cursor on the scroll slider and, when the loading begins, start scrolling up if I want to have any chance to easily find the last post I was reading. I have seen this behavior, grossly exaggerated, when I was viewing a video. The reload caused the viewing to pause and upwards of 15 newly loaded posts scrolled past in this rapid manner. My work requires that I am able to view pages of Facebook posts and this is now massively time-consuming and intolerable. I may have to change browsers in spite of my reluctance to do so.

It's not restricted to Facebook. I get similar problems with Twitter and Reddit and other platforms that use Infinite Scroll.

I am having this exact problem but on a MacBook Pro laptop running system 10.15.7 (Catalina). I use the trackpad almost exclusively, rarely the up/down cursor keys. Problem only surfaces when scroll bar is near the bottom of loaded content.

Like most other users have said, the problem does not seem to occur when using other browsers. I don't really care much for Chrome but it seems to work just fine. Have not tried Safari yet.

PS - my Firefox version is updated and restarted to 103.0 and still has this problem.......

As of 7/26, the problem seems to have been resolved at my end

I have not been on Facebook much today so i am not sure if it has if so wonderful and thanks for the info. If Fixed thanks to the peeps who fixed it as well

Same problem as above via Facebook on Windows 11, no problems with Edge or Chrome. Have since installed the Facebook app via Microsoft Store but seriously thinking of changing browsers altogether after using Firefox for 19 years :(

So there was an update today and everything seems to be working fine on Facebook, although there was nothing mentioned in the release notes so I'm not convinced.

I'll give it a few days and see how it goes :-))

With the latest release this issue seems to have finally been resolved.

No, it's not resolved. It seems a little less sensitive to the crazy scrolling (maybe), but, after upgrading, my Facebook news feed just jumped an astounding 33+ posts in one blink. The problem is far from solved.

I am using 103.0 (64-bit) on a window 12 desktop. The latest update of FF does indeed improve this problem. FF had become unusable here for FB. It still does some jumping but less often and I think only by a single post so I am back to using it.

I take that back. It is no longer completely unusable but it still jumps ahead, sometimes by several posts. There is more to be done to fix this.

much better though thanks to Firefox for at least trying. still have some jumping of post but no were near as it was

My initial impression after upgrading to V. 3.0 (64) was that there might be a slight improvement in this issue. That has not proven to be the case. The unattended scrolling jumps are as annoying as ever and, in come cases, even worse than previously. This morning I moved the scroll "pointer" to the bottom of the page, moved the cursor to the middle of the screen, and watched the scrolling jumps continue, on their own, for minutes; until I moved the scroll "pointer" up to the middle of the page. As I previously mentioned, I have seen the jumps actually cover 33+ posts in a single jump. It seems to be impossible to tell if Mozilla is even noticing the Bug Report on this problem. This like trying to get a response from Facebook about a problem, and that's not a good thing.

Tested on several computers. Tested in safe mode. Erased profile files..

Nothing helps

This is very annoying

The problem for me seemed to have been resolved on 7/26 and now on 7/29, it's back to what it was doing before. I have made no changes to anything.

it had stopped but i have not been on Facebook much today so not sure. I did all sorts of thing when it was doing it like removing disabling extensions. refreshed Firefox reinstalled Firefox all that . and as you can see also contacted Firefox. Not sure what or if they have fixed it but they are aware of it

I switched back to Firefox and tested Facebook for a little. The jumping over many posts in news feed has slowed considerably, only 2 or 3 posts get by in a blur. Using Chrome on a Mac never gave me any problem at all but I do prefer Firefox.

bold textNoticed today that it is still jumping posts but not nearly as bad. More work need to be done by Firefox for it

Sometimes it may seem that there's a slight improvement, but there are zero signs that Firefox has addressed this issue with the current ( 103.0 ) update. They surely won't issue little silent upgrades to deal with bugs. The fixes will come as normal, numbered updates. Assuming Mozilla actually decides to address this issue, we certainly won't see any improvement until they decide to issue a new update that deals with it.
