I have 98.0.2 running. I have selected delete cookies and site data on close, but for the past couple of weeks I have noticed that it is not clearing cookies. I am running no add-ons and I am not running in private browsing. This has worked previously.

Thank you, I have looked at this and anything that has to do with automatically deleting cookies on close. Like I said, it was working up until about 2 weeks or so ago, I can /have deleted cookies individually, but the auto check box feature should work again.

You can create a cookie allow exception with the proper protocol (https:// or http://) to make a website remember you Using "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" keeps cookies with an allow exception. Using "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear cookies clears all cookies including cookies with an allow exception you may want to keep. Clearing the "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exceptions for passwords and other website specific data.

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Exceptions"
  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history":
    [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" -> Settings

Than you cor-el. I have done all these things to no avail. I'll keep double checking settings 1 at a time - I may have inadvertently changed something that caused the problem. It's not a life changer so I'll deal with it.
