Can't resolve recurring 404 error, also Firefox start up requires 'New session' every time.
2 issues. 1) Have used Firefox for years on Windows 10 on a laptop. For the last 2 months I have had great difficulty signing in to do online banking with Bank of Montreal (BMO). I get a lot of 404 error messages. Clearing the cache and history works occasionally, but not consistently. I do not have this problem when I use Chrome and I do not have this problem with any other site. This is really frustrating and inconvenient because it is so inconsistent and yet so important. 2) For the last month, every time I start Firefox I get a message telling me Firefox was unable to find previous settings and I have to select 'Start new Session' as it seems unable to restore itself otherwise. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Over 2 months ago I installed a program called Open Shell which makes Windows 10 look like Windows 7. Since removing this shell, I have been able to do online banking as normal.
That was very good work. Well Done. Please flag your https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1366895#answer-1483402 post as Solved Problem as this can help others with similar problems. Go to that post and click the 'Solved' button to its right.
Sorry to say, this bank issue is still not solved. It was fine for about 2 weeks, then the 404 error messages started up again. They seem to be worse at busier times of the day. If I am blocked from banking during the day I may find that I can access the account later in the evening. Not consistently, though.
Interestingly, the issue with the 'about:sessionrestore' page, carried on for several days after removing the shell, but I have not had that re-occur for several weeks now. I can't say exactly when it disappeared.
PS Very sorry to hear you have been sick
