You reinstalled Windows? Did you tell Windows to keep your data in place or allow Windows to move it to a C:\Windows.old folder?

Does anything in this article help: How to run Firefox when your profile is missing or inaccessible.

no I did not, as it was a fresh install on new hard drive. Tried everything suggested and none of the profile managers would open.

If you haven't restarted Windows since this started, please do that in case there is a problem with file locks or incomplete permissions.

Assuming the problem continues:

Could you do a folder rename and see whether that helps. Here's where:

Type or paste the following shortcut into the Windows 10 search box and press Enter to launch the folder in Windows Explorer:

%APPDATA%\Mozilla

That should expand to:

C:\Users\your-username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla

(AppData is a hidden folder; you can set Windows to show hidden files and folders: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/h.../windows-show-hidden-files)

Right-click > Rename the Firefox folder here to FirefoxOLD

When you start Firefox, it should create a new Firefox folder. Does that work?

If the shortcut path doesn't work, you can try it the long way:

C:\Users\your-username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla

AppData is a hidden folder; you can set Windows to show hidden files and folders: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files
