Page Info has been part of the Location Bar since around Firefox 34, or before. The info that appears on hover and the info that appears when that icon is clicked has varied a bit over the last 20 versions of Firefox, but it's now new to Firefox 57.

That said, it is possible that you never saw it before due to having an extension installed, like maybe the Classic Theme Restorer, that you were using for a long time.

Shame on you for for blaming Mozilla, when you forgot how Firefox is / was configured "out of the box".

Gee, did you ever think that that could be one of the reasons that Mozilla decided to not allow extensions to modify Firefox 57+ as was allowed in the past?
