Is it possible to set new tabs to automatically open to my home page?

When I select to open a new tab, it defaults to a blank (Untitled) page. after which I have to manually select the Home button. I would like to know if there is an option to force the new tab to open with my home page displayed.

You can look at one of these extensions:

cor-el,

I downloaded and configured the NewTabURL add-on and was able to open new tabs as I had asked.

Thanks for your assistance!

Ron

You're welcome

There is an update of Firefox 3.6.10 available via Help > Check for Updates

Found the answer in another thread discussing the same problem. Hit Ctrl and click the Home icon at the same time. Works great!

Brilliant! It works a treat. Thanks so much for your help

This works great. Just to help out, under Tools>Options, select Manage Add-Ons in the General tab. The option to select the URL you want is available there.

It is pretty stupid to not make this a standard option. It took me at least a half hour to find out how to make a simple change. I was initially directed to wrong add-ons that were entirely useless, such as Tab King. That one just opens a tab to a page where you can enter a URL. Might as well have it open to a blank page.

BTW, thanks for the help, this solution works great.

You can middle-click or Ctrl left-click the Reload button on the Navigation toolbar to open the current page in a new tab.
