Why Firefox will not supply USERNAME on some login pages ?
The password saver and autofill has worked for me for many years. However, recently (08/18/2026) on many login pages that I regularly use, it will not !! I did discover that, if I supply the first character of the USERNAME, only then Firefox will supply the rest.

Thanks for reporting this. We’re aware that some users are experiencing slower password autofill and unexpected Primary Password prompts (bug 2064411) following the recent Firefox 154 password-storage changes. We’re actively investigating and working to address these issues.
We’ve rolled out a mitigation and recommend allowing remote improvements in Firefox Settings and restarting Firefox to make sure you’ve received the latest change. This may not immediately resolve all issues, but the team is actively working on a follow-up fix.

Do you have multiple user names for the site?
If you use the mouse to click the input box, you will see the names.
For many years, what you suggest is what I have been doing. It always used to work. Firefox has stopped working in that manner on some website' login page's.
Is it ok now? If not, you can try to log out your Mozilla account and log in again.
I did log out and: No change/no help. Also, if I right click on the login password slot or the username slot, all I get is a note that it is an image. It will not give me the option to manage passwords.
same for me. seems like a bug in version 154
