You posted this in Firefox support, is your question about 2FA with the Mozilla Account? I'm not sure why changing an email address would cause a problem with 2FA as that is an extra layer of protection that comes after regular username and password.
You usually make changes to 2FA by disabling 2FA and re-enable 2FA again after making changes to an account. This requires that you can access the account settings, if necessary by using 2FA recovery codes.
