I can no longer log in to discover card website; I could 2 weeks ago and I can login using other browsers.
Hello, I am using Linux Mint on a desktop with the latest version of Firefox. Two weeks ago I could login to the Discover website with no problems. Suddenly I can not log in, but get an error message that something is wrong and I can't login. I can login using Chrome on this machine. My wife gets the same message when she tried to login to her account on my computer. After several discussions with Discover, all I get is "it is not our problem."
I am having no problems logging into other accounts with Firefox on this computer.
I have not explicitly changed anything on the browser or computer. I have done some updates which included Firefox. I can login on a different Linux computer using an older version of Firefox. Of course the updates were also to the computer and I will ask the same question to the Linux forum.
I really like Firefox and would hate to have to change to Chrome.
Thanks so much for your help.

I've been a member for over 20yrs and I have no issues.
Have you tried with Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-4troubleshoot-modesf5safe-modesf
Did you clear your browser cache? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox
Hello jonzn4SUSE,
Here is a strange occurrence: I have tried to login to Discover every day and got the same results UNTIL TODAY. Today I got into my account looked around and was happy. I logged out and tried to login again and could not! I cannot fathom what is going on. Again, no changes to browser or operating system.
After this, I tried all of your suggestions, but nothing helped.
Bob
Great! Mark it as resolved and have a nice day.
The problem is not solved - I don't think you read the whole message. I still cannot login at discover.com/login
However, after playing around trying different ways to get to login from a search engine, I can login through the Report fraudulent activities page:
I guess I could always login from there, but I would like to know what is going on.
Thanks,
Bob
Show us something. Let me go login...
Just tried firefox and chrome and had the same issue. see screenshot Doesn't appear to be a Fireefox issue. Maybe something to with the merger since they were bought out. Going to check on the app, but this may require a phone call. ;-))
Capital One completed its acquisition of Discover Financial Services on May 18, 2025, in an all-stock transaction valued at roughly 35.3 billion. This merger combines two of the largest U.S. credit card issuers and grants Capital One ownership of Discover’s proprietary payment network, allowing them to compete more directly with Visa and Mastercard.

Thanks for the effort. Here is a further development - it is more than just Discover!
Tried to search on Lowes with Firefox and it didn't work.
Chrome worked fine.
