Broken bookmarks
It looks like now Firefox bookmarks every page I visit. This is not right! I only want to bookmark pages I explicity request to be bookmarked. How can we fix this?

Are you seeing them saved as bookmarks or just that they appear as shortcuts on the new tab page?
