Nothing showing up in bookmarks toolbar

I have version 143.0.3 (aarch64), running on a 2020 M1 mac. I did an update recently but I still have all of my bookmarks, that's not the problem. The problem is, although the space for the bookmarks toolbar appears when I click "always show" (and disapears when I select "never show"), I see nothing. Nothing shows up in this space and so I have to go menu diving to get to my bookmarks. Do you have an idea how to fix this?

- Do you see the bookmarks listed in the "Bookmarks Toolbar" folder when you view the bookmarks library?
- When you open the customize Firefox interface is "Bookmarks toolbar items" showing up on the toolbar where the bookmarks should be or is it somewhere else?

I'm running this version of firefox on MAC OS 15.6.1 (24G90) , in case that makes a difference

This was the key! I must have moved this down into the mass of other icons, now that I moved it back up in the customize interface screen everything is fine.
