12/22/23 - Firefox Takes 10 to 15 Seconds to Start
Just recently, within the last two weeks (today is 12/22/23) Firefox it taking a long time to start. Firefox version is 121.0 (64 Bit) Windows 11 Home Ver: 22H2, OS Build 22621.2861 This is a reasonably new Acer Nitro PC (August 2023) with a solid state drive.
When I double click the Firefox Icon a large white box opens on my PC and remains that way for 10-15 seconds, then the white box fills-in with the Firefox screen. Once opened, Firefox works perfectly.
I tried the troubleshooter and Firefox starts instantly, as it did previously. I have no Extensions, Themes, or Plugins. I even disabled: OpenH264 Video Codec and Widevine Content Decryption Module. I tried Google and DuckDuck as the Search engine with no difference.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help.

So it does not happen in Troubleshoot Mode?
Visit about:support in the address bar and try clicking the "Clear startup cache" button on the right side.
Good suggestion! I cleared startup cache and it made no difference, it still took 10-15 seconds to start.
I also just tried Troubleshoot Mode again and Firefox starts instantly. I also double checked that there are no Extensions, Themes or Plugins. There are none!
I tried Microsoft Edge to check if the start-up delay is related to out internet connection. Edge started instantly!
I am ready to to uninstall and reload Firefox, I'm hesitating because I'll loose all my bookmarks.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks for your suggestions:
I disabled Hardware Acceleration and now Firefox starts instantly. However, I did not previously set or alter this setting. So why is it suddenly causing a problem?
I also looked at Accessibility Services and found: UIAUTOMATION|C:\Windows\System32\EoAExperiences.exe. Even though disabling Hardware Acceleration seems to work, I'm going to disable EoAExperiences anyhow.
Thanks for the help.
Merry Christmas, Paul
