The places.sqlite file contains your History and Bookmarks. And it looks like it is corrupted.

Type about:support<enter> in the address box.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox. The browser should then create a new place.sqlite and recover your bookmarks from the backup files.

Note: Your history is not backed up and will be lost.

If you use Sync then best is to disconnect Sync temporarily during troubleshooting.

This could be a problem with the places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder.

• use the "Places Database" -> "Verify Integrity" button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page

If errors are reported with "Verify Integrity", close and restart Firefox or reboot and retry.

If "Verify Integrity" cannot repair places.sqlite, rename/remove all places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed. Firefox will rebuild places.sqlite and restore the bookmarks from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

• keep a backup copy of places.sqlite in case a new places.sqlite database has to be created
• you lose the history when a new places.sqlite is created

You may have to restore an older bookmarks backup in the bookmarkbackups folder via the Bookmarks Manager (Library).

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page (Root directory).

@cor-el yes, i used my account to sync everything into my firefox account so i could just load the setting each time i used firefox on different computer (new OS instalation for example)

My apologize if i kinda slow to "Digest" everything :D , just to make sure...so i go to my profile folder ,copy places.sqlite, create backup of places.sqlite..delete the file and restart firefox?but i already did that and the items are gone (bookmark and url history) but the bookmark folder are still present, it just they're all empty

Do you possibly have more than one profile? Deleting the places.sqlite file should make the browser create a new one from the backup folder.

Restore Bookmark Backups

Firefox automatically makes backups of the bookmarks. These are stored in the bookmarkbackups folder.

Open the Bookmarks Manager; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B. Firefox 84+ <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> O.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Restore. From the list, pick the file you want and click it.

The backups are stored in a jsonlz4 file named something like this; bookmarks-2016-06-29_1424_enD1GTH ya0JmicnYWg4V4g==.jsonlz4

In this example; 2016-06-29 = date created, 1424 = number of entries.

@fredmcd yes i have more than one profile, my profile (firefox customization setting) is continuation since my first time i used firefox

you need to download this zip file and extract it to your profile folder https://www.sqlite.org/2021/sqlite-tools-win32-x86-3370000.zip if you go to sqlite website just remember to download the one with size 1.8mb not 500KB

then you need to execute some query like on this screenshot, during the last query just remember your user.version

sqlite> PRAGMA user_version; 59

Mine return 59, your might not same as mine..then replicate it on our cloned places.sqlite ,chek if everything OK then delete the corrupted places.sqlite, rename cloned places.sqlite

i lost some data but ,history and bookmark now working correctly ..history from the past 5 days( span time when my history still broken) gone
