More than one process is normal for the current Firefox. http://www.ghacks.net/2016/07/22/multi-process-firefox/
Multi-process Firefox is codenamed "e10s". https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/multiprocess
jonzn4SUSE, I have "use recommended performance settings" checked. Should I change that?
Timmy
It's up to you. Like Fred said, this is normal in today's interwebs. Turn it off and see if you can tell the performance difference when you have a lot going on in the window. In today's world of everything running in the browser you have to have a beefier system anyway.
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20211203 KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.15.5-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i7-4810MQ CPU @ 2.80GHz Memory: 31.0 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa DRI Intel® HD Graphics 4600
How many Firefox processes are needed as I just checked and it's up to eleven at this point.
jonzn4SUSE I see. I should experiment with the settings and number of processes to see what works best. I'll give it a try.......
