I'm on an older iMac using OS 10.10.5 Yosemite. I can't upgrade due to work.

Currently I'm running Firefox 78.3.1esr (64bit) and I'm having trouble seeing some websites correctly (see attached screenshot for ebay for example). Sites also take a longer time than usual to render.

Is there anything I can do to make Firefox work well again?

Thanks!

被選擇的解決方法

Website should work properly with Firefox 78 ESR versions.

For eBay this can be caused by eBay hosting CSS files on servers that are blocked by Enhanced Tracking Protection. You can see in the screenshot that the shield is highlighted purple meaning that TP is active and is blocking content.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for messages about blocked content.

Thank you so much cor-el. I never knew about that feature and now it works. I do use ghostery but figured 'trusting' the site would prevent it from blocking content. It didn't.

Given that I am on esr updating, should I be worried about Firefox updating itself to where I can no longer use it on my old system?
