family and friends, communities sending info directions to my Inbox and I'm not receiving these emails. We always compare if I gave them the right email address. I need help to correct the problem.

My email address is on xxx@tds.net, and then migrates to thunderbird. However 2 days ago it failed to do so. How do I fix that. Is the problem with TDS or Thunderbird. Thanks.

On Saturday morning 27 June 2026 I tried to login my Orcon email account via Thunderbird (which I have been using for a long time). But my login didn't work, I got a message saying "login to POP3.orcon.net.nz with username habitation failed." On 30th June 2026 I reported the problem to Orcon.

Orcon gave me the following settings for Thunderbird. I have done that and even made a new account: Incoming Server Type: IMAP Mail Server: imap.orcon.net.nz Port: 143 SSL: Off Authentication: On (username and password required)

Outgoing SMTP Server: Mail Server: smtp.orcon.net.nz Port: 25 SSL: Off Authentication: Off

Since then I have spent many hours and going around in circles with Orcon's Technical Support to resolve this, but no luck. They blame Thunderbird. I used Thunderbird Troubleshoot Mode. The message that comes up reads: login to server mail orcon.net.nz with username habitation failed. Please can you check that your server settings above are correct? And if there is a bug? Irma

Does the Date field in Filters accept relative dates? I get a daily newsletter; I don't want to keep more than one. If I set it to run periodically with Date: set to "today," will it delete any mail older than today?

Hi. My main email address was accidently removed. All my previous emails are stored locally thanks to Thunderbird IMAP syncing up to now. I'm currently in touch with my ISP in order to restore my email address. This will be done in a few days : I am going to get my email address back, but all the emails on the servers will not be restored. Therefore, when the server is restored, it will be empty.

I fear that when it's done, during the next IMAP sync, my Thunderbird will delete all local emails.

What can I do to prevent that, or circumvent it ? I would like for the local state to be uploaded to the server, not the distant state to delete everything locally.

I get the messgae 'Unable to write email to the mailbox...make sure the file system allows you write priviledges and you have enough disk space.' When I looked at the errors Thunderbird recorded I found thei:

I recently had to restore my thunderbird app as I had issues with my laptop. I do not run Avast...I have tried the 'repair' option in folder properties in thunderbird. Nothing seems to help. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me. I have been using Thunderbird for....well it has been aloooong time and I have never had any issues with it previously. I am running WIn 11 Pro.

I have 8 email accounts in Thunderbird. When I click on an embedded link on a webpage to send an email (such as "send us an email"), I have to manually change which email I want to send from. Some times I forget to do that. How do I set Thunderbird to one of my other email accounts when I open a weblink to compose and send an email?

I have a suspision Thunderbird selects the "top" email account in my list of accounts, but I thought I would ask here first.

I've used Thunderbird for years. computer crashed and I'm trying to install Thunderbird on my new PC. Thunderbird cannot find account. I've checked with my provider several times and all settings are correct. Any ideas? I've also downloaded installed and uninstalled 5 times today with the same result.

I find now that Thunderbird requires Earthlink's password each time an email is sent. Earlier it required it once a day. I am on Windows 11 using Earthlink.net for provider.

"connection to server pop.mail.yahoo.com timed out" I have been getting this message in the activity manager for about a week now. When I click get messages, it says down loading message 1 of 1, but nothing happens.

Following some changes in our organization, we had to create new email addresses with new domain names. We have kept the old ones until now but we decided to erase some that had not received emails for a while.

Since we did that, we have encountered some problems regarding one of our computer. We can't send emails because Thunderbird is asking us for the passwords of the deleted email accounts. When we click on cancel, a window opens saying (roughly translated from French): "The email could not be sent. Authentification to the SMTP (outgoing server) failed. Please verify your password and the "Authentification method" in the "Account parameters | Outgoing server (SMTP) menu." The email was sent from a completely different email address than the one linked to the email account.

We deleted the accounts and cannot access this menu. Has it happened to anyone? What would be the solution to be able to send email again on that computer?

I just added two new email accounts to my Thunderbird installation, which has been working with three accounts flawlessly for years. All my accounts are POP/SMTP.

Both the new emails are Google Workspace accounts for an in-home business. One uses (my) name@(domain) as the account name, the other uses info@(domain). The account using my name works fine, sending and receiving. But the info@ account does not display a Sent folder, and will not send messages. It looks as if it does, but they never show up. I checked the Account Settings and the two new ones are set up identically, and just like the other accounts that have been working just fine. Any ideas? Many thanks in advance.

I use Thunderbird v 140.12.1esr to manage email on my email account X@yahoo.co.uk. For the past 2 days sent emails fail with error message "sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to outgoing server SMTP.mail.yahoo.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. I have not changed my smtp settings - they are Server = smtp.mail.yahoo.com; Port = 465; user name = X@yahoo.co.uk; Authentication method = OAuth2; Conneciton Security = SSL/TLS

Thunderbird has one account

I have set up a simple filter. It is the only filter set up. The test is 'from matches quora'. It is set to run manually and on download, It is enabled.

The filter works well when run manually but not on download.

What it is missing, or what do I check next please? TIA

I have checked the mail setting, they seem to be correct, but this is the message I get when trying to send from any of my email accts.

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Email rejected. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.
