I really hope somebody can help me with the "Google-4-TbSync is incompatible with Thunderbird 153.3.1" Are there any solution to this, because the developer seems to have stopped the development of an update of this extention. I desperately need to sync my Google contacts with my Thunderbir contacts. Any help will be welcomed.

Lately, Thunderbird has been using excessive CPU time even when idle. I am on Windows 11 and running the 153.3.1esr release of Thunderbird. It's impacting other applications. When I exit Thunderbird, everything runs faster. Right now it's using over 7% CPU and about 500 MB of ram.

Hardware is HP Pavilion Desktop 590-p0xxx. Intel i5-8400 2.8 GHz 12 GB ram.

I'm attempting to add the public stream schedule for a Twitch streamer to my calendar in Thunderbird, which is possible because Twitch does offer an API endpoint to get a streamer's schedule via RFC5545-compliant iCalendar file (https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-channel-icalendar). However, Thunderbird doesn't seem to be respecting the timezone information in Twitch's iCal data and it is not converting event times to my local timezone (America/Chicago). If I open one of the imported events from the iCal in Thunderbird in Edit mode and enable the Show Timezones option, Thunderbird appears to be interpreting the imported start and end times as "Local Time" instead of the timezone specified in the iCal. If I change the timezone in Thunderbird's calendar settings, the start and end times of the calendar events imported from Twitch do not update either.

This happens with ANY iCal from Twitch, but for the sake of illustration, the specific public calendars I'm attempting to add are: > https://api.twitch.tv/helix/schedule/icalendar?broadcaster_id=519794491 > https://api.twitch.tv/helix/schedule/icalendar?broadcaster_id=425292962

Other software (GNOME Calendar and the Open-Xchange-powered platform my e-mail provider uses) is correctly interpreting the timezone data in Twitch's iCal so the issue appears to be in Thunderbird. Any suggestions?

Wieso geht seit ein paar Tagen der Mailversand via Thunderbird nicht mehr? Postausgangsserver weder STARTTLS 587 noch SSL/TLS 465 weder smtp.sunrise.ch noch smtp2.sunrise.ch funktionieren. Bei beiden Mailadressen xxx.xxx@sunrise.ch und yyy.yyy@sunrise.ch. Aber bei Outlook funktionieren sie problemlos. Habt Ihr eine Ahnung wieso? Alle andern E-Mailadressen funktionieren problemlos mit Thunderbird, das immer noch meine erste Wahl im Mailversand ist.

Ich glaube seit der neusten Thunderbird Version 153.3.1esr. Aber wieso nur bei der einen E-Mailadresse sunrise? Firewall und Antivirenprogramm ausschalten nützte auch nichts.

How do I make Thunderbird open a new window instead of another tab? When I open a PDF file, setting, address book, or other, it always goes to a new tab. When I want to close this file, I often forget it's a tab and close the whole program! Annoying! I want these thing to open in new windows instead where I can hit close without shutting down Thunderbird.

Thank you as always. I am using Windows 11 and Thunderbird 153.3.1esr. When I open past newsletters using "Edit as New Message," I cannot create a line break by pressing Enter before the first character of the body text. Line breaks work elsewhere in the body text and in regular new emails. This mainly occurs with group newsletters. If I change the formatting to [Paragraph] and then switch back to [Body Text] with Ctrl+Z, I can create line breaks in that editing screen. Is there a permanent fix?

My emails are not downloading even though it says I have messages and they are downloading it just eventually stops and nothing is downloaded. This has been going on for several days. I made sure that my app is up to date and it is. I shut down the program and restarted my computer this also didn't do anything.

I use Thunderbird on multiple computers, sharing an NAS. One is Windows 10, one is Linux Mint. Both have Thunderbird 153.3.1esr installed. The email Profile and email file storage is on the NAS. The "home" folders on both machines have a profile.ini file that points to that shared profile. This worked fine for many years.

For perhaps 6 months i've only accessed email from Windows. Now i'm trying again to access from LinuxMint. It no longer works.

From Linux, at startup, Thunderbird complains that i'm trying to open my profile from "an older version of Thunderbird". A popup dialog claims "A newer version of Thunderbird may have made changes to your profile which are no longer compatible with this older version. " It offers to create a new profile.

First, the same version last edited the profile as is reading it. Second, i don't want to create a new profile, as the existing one has multiple email accounts at multiple domains, with multiple sigatures, and custom storage paths, etc. I tried profile manager, but it just takes me back to this dialog.

How do i get Thunderbird to use my existing shared email storage ?

Abbreviations ( Nat'l for National) locks up a send function. A mis-spelled word locks up TBird when I click send. For either instance the mouse will not click on anything except the red X delete.

I am on a Windows 11 desktop running Mozilla Thunderbird to the roadrunner account from server mail.twc.com - Spectrum. Thunderbird is set to update automatically.

I have been getting an error message saying that the I am blocked from the server when it checks for new messages every 10 minutes. It sometimes lets emails come through, and other times, they are blocked. Same problem with sending. I cannot send, then wait a few seconds, and it sends okay.

This has been going on for about 3 or 4 weeks.

When I send a message the send box does not close. It remains open and says it is saving the message in the sent folder. I then have to quit thunderbird in order to close the box and get back to using thunderbird again. It does save it in the sent folder. but the box remains open Why is it doing this?

Subject: CompuServe/AOL mail stopped working in Thunderbird 153.3.1esr — Yahoo says “invalid client id”

My CompuServe.com account stopped receiving mail in Thunderbird at approximately 1:15 p.m. Central on September 19, 2026. Thunderbird reports version 153.3.1esr, released September 18. I can still sign in and read the account’s mail through webmail.

When Thunderbird asks me to authorize access, I reach a Yahoo page titled “Review access details.” I check the box agreeing to the OpenID and OAuth terms and click Next. Yahoo then displays: “Uh-oh, looks like something went wrong. Please try again later.” Beneath that, it says: “Developers, please specify a valid client and submit again.”

The resulting URL contains `error=unauthorized_client` and `error_description=invalid+client+id`.

The incoming server’s authentication method is OAuth2. I checked that Thunderbird accepts cookies, and I have fully quit and restarted it several times. I have only one AOL/Yahoo-managed account in Thunderbird. My outgoing SMTP server is through a different provider and has worked in that configuration for years.

Could someone determine whether Thunderbird 153.3.1esr is sending a client ID that Yahoo no longer accepts, or suggest a way to restore incoming access without removing the account? I have not deleted or recreated it because I need to preserve my locally stored mail.

Just got an email from GoDaddy, my domain provider, about Microsoft discontinuing Their Exchange Web Service. My wife uses the web service but I use Thunderbird. Will Thunderbird still work for Exchange email or do I have to submit to Microsoft's extortion and use Office 365?

This is the message I got:

The deprecation of EWS is currently scheduled to begin in October 2026 and be completed by April 2027.

When creating a "New Event" I select "No reminder" save and close but reminder is still active and icon appears in the calendar next to the event.

I have to then edit the event and change the setting which has somehow changed from my selected choice of no reminder to custom.

In my one account in Thunderbird, I still have the old POP folders, that was a different account. I also have an IMAP account, both have the same address. The pop one does not work but the folders are there, I use them to look old mails up, so far so good. When I sent out an email with my IMAP account, the sent mail goes into the sent folder of the IMAP account, so far so good. BUT when I click on that sent mail and click on reply, it replies to the same address that what it already was sent to, now here comes the problem. THAT copy of the mail, I called the NEW sent, does not go into my sent folder. It goes directly into the sent folder of my old pop account. Even though everything on the IMAP account is standard, re-sent mails are not placed in the IMAP account sent folder. What am I doing wrong here, I know when writing the mail is that I can choose the send address and if I change that it goes in the IMAP sent folder but why is it standard on my old POP account, and why not on the IMAP account even though the IMAP is the standard?

Thunderbird says "certificate for mail.capsense.com is not valid for that server..." and hangs. Then awakes in 10 minutes.
