I have a Macbook Air and the copy and paste command no longer works on Firefox, even using CM+C and CM+V. How do I fix it?

Previously, had no problem loading YouTube videos in multiple tabs, switching between them and them playing their videos with no freezing , pausing or buffering. Since the last upgrade loading a single YouTube video causes it to freeze and continually buffer. And Firefox is spawning multile copies of itself in task manager. (One instance had 15 copies.)
