Hi

You did an update to Firefox about two weeks ago & now I can't login. Had to call EDD yesterday & today to talk to an IT specialist. She told me that Mozilla never contacted California EDD & for the last two weeks people, myself included haven't been able to login. She told me to use Chrome or Microsoft Edge, both of which I absolutely HATE to use. Well guess what I was able to login using Microsoft Edge.

Here's the steps Login They send you a 6 digit text code. You enter the code Then you get a pop up message that something went wrong & call the 833 - 876 - 9333 for the IT dept. Which only takes about 20+ trys to get someone.

PLEASE CORRECT THIS SITUATION!!!!

Hi,

Sorry to hear that the page doesn't work as expected. In order to look for the root cause, please follow the steps below and provide us with more information to troubleshoot your issue.

  1. Please check if you have Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) enabled. You can do that by clicking the shield Fx89ShieldIcon icon at the left of the address bar.
    • If ETP is enabled, try disabling it. Does the problem persist?
  2. If the problem is not fixed, try clearing Firefox cache. Does it help?
  3. If it does not help, also try clearing cookies and data for the website you experience troubles with (warning: you will be logged out on this website). Does it help?
  4. If it also does not help, try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode. Does the problem persist?

Looking forward to your update!

I'm encountering the same issue. I have disabled ETP, launched the site in a private window (to avoid any cache, cookie, or other data retention issues), and launched Firefox in Troubleshoot mode with no change in behavior. It works maybe 10% of the time, but the vast majority of the time fails to the unknown error message page that the OP reports. I too have seen this start up around approximately 11/23/2025 and did not have this problem before that point. This seems like a code regression in Firefox rather than a server-side issue, and would ask that it be investigated as such.

Hey Tobias,

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you very much for testing and posting a message here! You are absolutely right; I've been able to reproduce the issue in Firefox, and have not been able to reproduce it in Edge. I've reported it on WebCompat, so that our testers can create an account and pass it to the developer team. I'll keep you updated.

Oops, looks like it's already tracked under bug 2004615, and the team is already working on it! The priority is set to P1, which is the highest one, so I'd expect the issue to be fixed relatively soon.
