With the update to 115.10.0esr my bookmarks that were on the left hand side of the screen are gone. When I look at bookmarks there are a few, but I had multiple folders for different subjects, I do not find. I would like to have the procedure to return my bookmarks back to the left hand side of the screen with all of my bookmarks, bookmark folders, and other bookmarks like it was prior to the update. Thank you for help, Steve Zimmerman

How to fix Firefox so that it uses the default (globe) icon for all un-visited bookmarks, as it did before?

Using YouTube for example...

Previously, when I bookmarked a page/video (URL), if the newly bookmarked page (URL) had previously been visited, the bookmark would be displayed in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a typical "YouTube Play Button" icon (favicon). But, if the newly bookmarked page (URL) has never been visited, then the bookmark would be displayed in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a default "Globe" icon (favicon).

I almost always create bookmarks by dragging links/URLs from the browser client area to a folder in the bookmarks list in the sidebar (and sometimes/rarely, to a folder on the Bookmarks Toolbar). But the same happens if I manually create a new bookmark to a "Visited" or "Un-visited" page.

Recently, this behavior just changed "without notice"...

Now, when I drag a link/URL from a the "Recommended videos column" on the right side of a YouTube page/video, to the bookmarks list in the sidebar, the bookmark is ALWAYS displayed in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a typical "YouTube Play Button" icon (favicon), regardless of whether the page had previously been visited, or not. Also, existing bookmarks for un-visited pages that were previously created, and were previously displayed in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a default "Globe" icon (favicon), are now displayed in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a typical "YouTube Play Button" icon (favicon).

How can I bring back the previous behavior of displaying bookmarks of un-visited pages/URLs in the Sidebar (or Toolbar) with a default "Globe" icon (favicon)?

I start Firefox from a batch file (Win7) on the first boot of the day. Manually I choose my "NEWS" bookmarks folder, then slide down to "Open all in tabs". (attached image) (Then I go pour a coffee while the news article tabs open and load data!)

Please and thank you, is there a way to specify this action from the command line? And if so, what is it?

I believe that I could use such a mechanism in other ways, such as opening all tabs in my "Forums" folder of bookmarks, or on Mondays, opening all tabs in my "Weekly" bookmarks folder.

Thank You, Chris

I looked for info on "how to save a window". Googling got me to : https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/941808

a. That article is out of date. And, like so many, IT DOES NOT STATE TO WHAT VERSIONS OF FIREFOX IT APPLIES. That is nuissance, considering how often Firefox changes.

b. That article also states to right click and tab and use "Bookmark All Tabs". There is no such right click option. (ff v107.1)

Useless, out-of-date articles should not be archived when they become obsolete. Or, they should be archived with an indication that they no longer apply.

c. How do I save a window?

When a new bookmark is created it goes to the end of the bookmark listing in the left panel. How can I force Firefox to automatically put each newly created bookmark in the correct alphabetic position in the left panel Bookmarks panel? I DO NOT want to alphabetize the entire panel, I just want each newly created bookmark to go where is alphabetically belongs. I do not use folders so have one long list for bookmarks menu. thank Bob

I've tried every suggestion of removing "Other Bookmarks" and all failed miserably with this new Firefox, it is ticking me off, why Firefox creates these irritations for its members is beyond me, no wonder its popularity is shrinking. Hi all,

I basically have the same question as this one, but I don't understand the chosen solution: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1257189

When I installed FF on this laptop, I imported successfully my bookmarks, but for some reason for one particular (large) folder, its bookmarks "Description" field was not imported.

I have both the HTML and the json backup bookmarks files. With the HTML file I can copy and paste individual bookmarks and descriptions, but I have probably over 1,000 bookmarks in this folder.

Thank you.
