running Firefox 98.0.1 on windows 10

I recently started using Firefox again and all my themes started zooming out/moving to the right hand side and some even duplicated multiple times across my top bar. It's most noticeable on themes that arent meant to be looped like that (see japan rain in attached photo)

is there anyway to fix this/work out what is causing it? None of my extensions modify my taskbar in anyway (photo attached) and i never changed any display settings in windows.

If I press the Escape key three times, it obscures the screen for a second and then rebuilds the frame, so I guess it reloads the page? The attached picture shows my Youtube start page - as you can see, it's just the frame itself but not the scroll bar, so it's about the page, not the whole firefox window itself.

If I press Escape four times, firefox closes the current tab and opens a new one with my start page loaded.

What the Eff is happening here? That can't be a feature, can it? Has anybody experienced anything similar and can point me in the right direction?

Your information on blocking Facebook's popup notifications is way out of date. Directions impossible to follow because they are not available on Facebook. How about an answer that works on the current version of Facebook?

Simple, clear instructions to recover most recent Firefox TabsSessionManager Session. I am to the point of just finding a new session manager. I have used this produce for years, but I am disappointed they have not updated and automated the recovery process. nor do they clearly explain their analog recovery process and I need this F*** now. Its not like I have contributed money along the way.

"Open previous windows and tabs" is checked but it's not working. I had to go to history and opened it. It's happening for the last several weeks.

I currently have like 40 windows and a few hundred of tabs opened from when the bookmark star was not working after updates. I have found it too difficult to organize my current filing system ever since they stopped the drag and drop feature. I want to type in more than the first letter to find a file or folder. I want to type in a word - have those FOLDERS only come up to chose from with that word in their titles..but alas no field to do so. The Organize page is hard to find - below the options as a postscript on the ff options submenu. Once there - it doesn't bring up just folders in one box and the files that you want to organize in another box and the ability to drag them into the right folder. Instead it brings up only misc files in no particular order. I can't work with that for type of job. This is more for finding a file I think - alone. So -that's why I left so many files up. Not my normal way to do things - I would file them then close all windows down empty - or maybe just what I was working on still up. Not my question. My question is just what was in the title bar. That's all. Thanks. Oh I know the setting is there to have them open at start up or not. Question is is I say no - will they be deleted? I know you can click on "restore prior session" from the ff menu after history. (altho I can't see it - poss bec I opened with prior session. ) I basically want access to SEE my prior session windows/tabs without opening them until I CLICK on them to activate them. I want to see the TITLE of the links basically "off-line" and decide if I want to go there and work or not one by one - NOT to "restore all" or not. And if you don't restore previous session on your subsequent session - and logoff/shutdown. Is the prior session lost for your "3rd session and forward"? does it only save the very last session? say i had 40 windows open. chose not to open them auto next session - via settings. AND i never opened them all for that subsequent session. What happens to those 40 windows the next time? Are they unsaved? Since i never opened them - say only used the new blank windowtab to check the weather. closed the link shut down. That session had no windows or tabs left open but the home page = next session should have no windows or tabs saved in the ff menu underneath the history by how it is said. There is no clarification. It's a big deal to just try it - and lose 300 tabs I need to look at and favorite through. Get me? I hope it's clear. I feel you only need the title bar but it wouldn't allow so I felt I had to elaborate. PLS help. I have to clean up to do MS OS upgrades, backups, I have partions, gotta read up so this thing has to be fixed first. Plus auto opening/connecting to links on all those tabs at start up is interferring with updates bec they happen at the same time - badddd news. Thanks all!

I manage two W10 PCs, each with FF installed and fully updated (v100.0). Firefox on Windows has the following bars at the top: 1) the title bar (Firefox…) in Windows style, 2) the edit bar (File Edit History…), 3) the tool bar (customised: eg. Home, Go back, Go forward, Reload, Show Sidebars, Download, Print…), 4) the browser tabs bar containing the open tabs containing a website page.

The problem is that on one PC, the browser tabs bar comes right after the edit bar.

I can't find how to change this, since the solutions are too old or unclear. Please, help.

hi. recently f-secure was blocked by fire fox i believe and i removed firefox from my pc. (not sure why) i have now reinstalled firefox as i had a email from f-secure to say it was now available for firefox but despite spending the last 2 hours going round in circles i cannot find a way to reinstall f-secure. can anyone please help me? thankyou. my subscription is valid.

FF recently updated itself to 100.0.1 and since this time I have been unable to install any addons. Every time I try to install an addon, I receive the message 'Installation aborted because the add-on appears to be corrupt.' I have uploaded a screenshot which demonstrates this behaviour. This is just an example - all addon installations are affected. My existing addons are unaffected, but if I remove one and attempt to reinstall it, the same result occurs.

before the update, i was using a custom theme, and it behaved similarly to the normal dark theme. as in, when i opened a new tab, it was dark, and stuff like that. now that firefox has crashed and i've had the update involuntarily forced upon me, i'm still using the custom theme, but now it behaves as the light theme. is there any way to fix this? i don't appreciate being blinded whenever i open a new tab or adjust my settings.

I have tried multiple times to just change my homepage. I am coming from Chrome, but I used to use Firefox a lot. I am going into my preferences almost daily to change my homepage to just the standard firefox home, because I thought I was just crazy. It will not save my preference though, and I have no clue why. I do not have any extensions enabled or installed other than the ones that come with a fresh install of firefox. I even have those disabled right now. I have some themes downloaded, but I only am using the one provided my Mozilla. Nothing is allowing to save changes.

I will change it, and for like the next few times I open my browser, it will be saved, but after a day, its gone. I still have no clue as to why.

Can anyone help out?

I cannot install English GB dictionary for my spell checker. When I click add dictionaries it takes me to a page where I can select Englsih GB as one of the dictionaries available in my locale. It then takes me to the info and remove page for the dictionary but there is no option to install and no pop up to start the download appears.

My use case is the following. I use Firefox Developer Edition for developing websites. Usually the development happens on a certain part of the page. Most of the times it is not on the top of the page, so you have to scroll down to it.

Sometimes when the page is refreshed a jump to the top happens. So then I need to scroll down again. It takes a lot of time and concentration away if it happens dozens of times a day.

It often happens after I did some changes to the files on the page. It usually does not happen when I refresh the page a couple of times (when I purpously want to reproduce this problem).

I did try running Firefox in Safe mode, but it didn't help.

What can be done to fix this problem on my side? Is this a bug in Firefox itself?

It appears after another update, the apps I have set to open file types have all reverted back to download. I would just change them back, but most of the file types are missing as well so i have to resave them using the cumbersome download and then open all similar steps each time I want to open something until all the file types are saved again. Then an update happens and JPEGS and Excel files are no longer on the list. Why is this happening? Do I have something set wrong or does someone at Firefox think this is a good idea for some reason? I am NOT a fan of this relatively new Full-screen mode at all unless I initiate it when watching a movie or in very few other instances. I don't like any device second-guessing or anticipating what I need to do and when or if it needs to do this for me. It has caused me more problems than it has helped, and injected some frustrating delays getting what I want done due to the added need and interruption of being paused to constantly press F11 again and again. It's not second nature and at this point, I don't think it will be. I don't need or want this feature and I don't understand this new world where features have to be nailed down and locked now with the "like it or lump it" mentality without option to remove or disabled this? (Sorry, I don't like MS Edge either, and not only for this reason!) I would be happy to go back to a previous version of Firefox that is without this feature, if this is the only answer. I'm hoping it is not?

There was a previous very brief post on here that directed users to go to about:config and set full-screen-api.enabled to false in order to disable this feature, but no one positively confirmed that it worked and the thread was closed. This doesn't appear to be working for me with the most current version of Firefox.

Is there someone who can help give me peace in my life again by showing me how to disable this permanently and forever? I know about F11 and don't ever want to have to press it again! I would appreciate any help, and you might even make my Christmas list if it works?
