I've been looking to recover my file history. I accidentally deleted my file history. I looked into recovery. I found out how using a youtube video. Using Sqlite recovery app on this file "places.sqlite." However, when I search and looked up a few things, it was basically the history I can already access and that only goes back from now to like december 2023. I want to go back a few years. Did I do something wrong using the sqlite app for that file?

I am working on a web crawler that scrapes set of websites analyzing certain privacy strings that are present before and after Global Privacy Signals are sent. We make use of Selenium Web Driver to perform the crawl. Part of the data we collect is the urlClassification of third party sites that are tracking users on the site, via Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection. However when performing the crawl, Enhanced Tracking Protection data is no longer available while Selenium has automatic control over Firefox, even though there is indeed third party sites (fingerprinters, cross-site tracking cookies) active on these sites when they are manually visited not using our crawler. Does anyone have an idea why our software may be interfering with Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection? Thanks!

I use a program called "URL Manager Pro" on the Mac to manage my bookmarks in all my browsers. Double clicking on a bookmark icon in URL Manager can open the URL in a new tab, the same tab, or a new window depending upon how I set the preferences in URL Manager Pro. This works fine in Safari. However, in Firefox, the website opens in a new tab regardless of how I set my preferences in URL Manager.

The author of URL Manager tells me the issue is a problem with how Firefox deals with AppleEvents. It's very annoying to accumulate so many unintended new tabs and then manually close them. Is this fixable in Firefox or is there a work around?

What's happened to the + sign to add a new tab? I've customized Firefox to have tabs below the address bar (as they should be) but have just noticed that, once the window is full of tabs, the + to add another tab has disappeared. Is this because of my customization or has Firefox removed this function?

Since Monday morning every site times out. My router says I'm connected to the Internet, but my VPN says I'm not. Other devices on the router have no problem, so it's not the cable or my ISP. I had to replace my old laptop. On that machine, all pages were set to come up with a black background and the page items also were in black. On my new laptop, the items on a web site come up with a white background. I would like all pages to come up with a black display. For instance, this page I am on now is white. I would prefer it to be black with white type. Can you help me?

There is no option to pin it to the toolbar. This is a new install of Firefox on a "new to me" computer running Win11Pro. It was there on my old computer. I'm stumped. Thanks.

Firefox freezing when trying to get text for authentication on sites. Just started after this mornings update on Firefox!!! Anybody else? Have to turn off/on laptop to get it to work again

It keeps recurring. This time it took 3 weeks from the time that last post. As I said in the past post, the problem is a corrupted 'sessionstore.jsonlz4 file.

My evidence is that when i ran about:support - Troubleshooting, the problem was still happening.

I just mounted a backup profile, created during the last incident. Works fine. I took the sessionstore.jsonlz4 from that backup and replaced the one in the problem profile.

After doing the replacement, the problematic profile symptoms have disappeared. At least for now, that is.

But now, I have to restore the missing portion of the session (tabs/history) created between the last occurrence and now, because of the replacement of the corrupted sessionstore.jsonlz4 with the backup.

Nobody has offered a way to do this that is not a time consuming ordeal.

What would you do?

Duplicate Tab, Duplicate Tabs and Reopen Closed Tab don't work. I have making a new tab and copying the URL I need from the original tab. Any idea on how to fix this ?

I have the extension LastPass on Firefox and Edge. Edge works fine, but Firefox will let me log in and shows the extension is red, but when I click on "Vault" the page is blank. I can click on "Favorites" and got to one of those websites, but that is all I have access to.

I've recently changed my OS from Suse to Kubuntu. When I used Firefox in Suse there was an option, 'Save Link', which created a .desktop file that I could then click on to load the page. This file could be saved in any folder, which meant it could be filed away in an appropriate place.

When I click on a .desktop file in Kubuntu it will load the page, but there doesn't seem to be a way of creating one with the version of Firefox that has been installed.

Is there a way of one-click creating a .desktop file in Kubuntu that I haven't noticed? (Yes, I can easily create one using Kate, but that could be long-winded for the number of pages I want to save.)

I see a notification dot with the number "1" inside, on the Firefox icon - but have no idea where to go to see the notification referred to. Can anyone please describe how to navigate to the notification?
