I use Firefox for privacy, lack of bloat, and other ethical reasons. For these reasons, I don't want to have the new CEO keep the incorrect idea in his head that the people who use Firefox want AI. Please don't add more AI, if anything--- please remove the AI which has already been added to Firefox which users have to remove themselves. I will dump Firefox if the new CEO continues with this plan.

I keep losing passwords on Microsoft and I depend on Mozilla. Is there a way I can print a copy of all my passwords to hold in a file myself in case everything goes wrong. I am 77 years old and a lot of this is just too advanced for me.

I have turned all search features off in settings and changed all relevant entries to False in About:config and it is still happening! Why did this change, I do not want this, I did not ask for this and I want it to be returned to how it worked before! NOW!

I worked with a tech support team to update software on my computer. After the update they did a clean up on my computer today and I lost all of my firefox passwords. How can I recover these passwords?

It induced me to create a new profile. Then, I lost the old one. Who even knew about profiles? Firefox is now filling in passwords, among other serious setting changes I did not make. This is the worst experience I ever had with a browser. Firefox has been my steady for decades, always dependable and easy to manage. I think we broke up today.

I've been using 2 search bars for quite some time.

I use the top bar for URLs and the bar mid screen for ad-hoc searches.

(I know I can use the top bar for both but I'm long since retired, quite set in my ways and would rather not have to change unless absolutely necessary😉)

I was able to restore the mid screen search bar functionality using an about:config setting from memory when I first noticed the search bar consolidation a few years back.

It's been working fine until the latest update.

Latest update lets me activate the mid screen bar with a mouse click but any attempt to then enter anything causes focus to move to the top bar so text input on the mid screen bar is no longer possible.

I've tested this on 2 Win 11 desktops and 1 Win 10 desktop and see the same 'issue' arising after the update.

Has that functionality been removed entirely with the latest update or is there an about:config setting that can restore it?

I recently switched back to Mozilla Firefox as my primary browser, and I have been very happy with the switch. I was pleased (but not surprised) to see the new option to block AI enhancements. The first feature this blocks seems to be web page translations, which did surprise me. Web translation certainly predates LLMs. Is there a possibility an older translation feature might be made available for users opting out of AI? I know language is the specialty of these programs, so if you have not continued support for other translation options, I would understand.

Actually, given that this "feature" made it all the way through to prod, I seriously suggest you just fire absolutely everyone currently working for Mozilla and start over with entirely new people, and ideally have as one of your hiring criteria a sensible understanding that AI has no place in Firefox, or any other Mozilla project. Leaving aside the question of whether it's good or bad, it's simply irrelevant to what we're doing here.

I recently opened Firefox to see a new flagged warning under my toolbar that says "The security sandbox is disabled. Your configuration is unsupported and less secure."

I have gone into about:config and adjusted every security.sandbox element to see if that would change anything; it did not.

I am running on Windows 11 Home so I cannot install or properly run Windows Sandbox.

I would either like a solution to enable the sandbox once again, or just remove the notification from the toolbar.

The extensions I use are: Adblock Plus Ghostery Privacy Badger Privacy Possum uBlock Origin

Which one of these add ons offered encryption? Is this something I can uninstall? Not all attachments are encrypted, but some are. Thanks JM

Just quick question re the recent update relating to Chatbot usage Can multiple Chatbots be active in the sidebar instead of just one. I understand that one will have to select a different Chatbot for a specific task .. i.e. Let's say ChatGPT stay "default" but may want to use Claude for a specific question / task - I assume if so one will then first have to change the active status of Chatbot but icon can be kept in the sidebar (together with another) and then just active / change when required.

For those of us that do want to use AI for work performance enhancement purposes, I have a question and also a comment for the Development Team. Here is the scenario real quick. I use Mozilla Firefox as my trusted browser today and that means that I open other AI systems such as ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, etc. within this browser and could at times be running multiple browser sessions at the same time. My question is, will the Mozilla new AI Features attempt to try and compete with my other chat sessions for data capture, response and participation if I keep portions or the whole system enabled? The last thing I need is Mozilla AI as the selected browser now interfering with my other work flow processes in anyway including just listening along which would significantly increase the amount of resources used to run the Mozilla AI in parallel with other AI systems on my computer. I have heavy work loads at times and am already experiencing browser delays in processing data (even when setting up separate project chats for specific tasks) because of too many added features within all of the AI systems like historical chat session quick links on the right side of the screen. That's a ton of data that ends up getting stored/cached, referenced and processed with each command executed. I don't mind using Mozilla AI within the browser for general personal surfing and Q&A purposes but I can see this potentially becoming a big issue for us creators working with large image data processing tasks in other AI systems via the Mozilla browser. I will unfortunately be turning all of these Mozilla AI features off to start because I am not sure there really is a clear separation path for resource allocations within the browser now keeping my experience fast and efficient. Most likely this will force me into using a different browser product for personal vs business until things are much clearer. Hoping to learn a little bit here and see that things like this are being taken into consideration, even if it is a product roadmap enhancement for release sometime in the near future. Thanks so much!
