After my Firefox took a 'ninja update' I was not able to keep the cache clear and even though it was set to clear my cache on exit when i would open a fresh instance of firefox it would have items in the cache. nothing I would do would correct this even completely removing Firefox, the profiles, and reinstalling it. Reinstalling it is turning out to be my biggest mistake. Instead of the version 63 installing, which is what my installer was for the installer is only installing the most recent buggy version My version 63 had updates turned off, it should not have taken an update but it did even though the updates were turned off FOR security. I even had the registry set to block from HKLM When I am 'browsing' the internet I am logged into my machine with a user account that can't even make any changes. The current version (76.0.1) is having the same problems that plagued me before after this 'ninja update', the cache will not fully clear. When I open firefox it is showing it has items cached. There should be NOTHING in the cache when it opens, I do not have a home page set, there are no links set to open at startup and no connections should be made. The popup blocker is not only not blocking any popups it is opening them in new windows The machine does not have a virus or malware. Why is firefox so insecure now? The whole idea of using firefox was to be using a secure browser and just a browser it is not supposed to be integrated into the operating system it is not supposed to be interacting with the operating system it is supposed to be an internet browser. Without the ability to prevent this automatic communication and block unwanted traffic from it we may as well be using Internet Explorer, Edge or Chrome. How do we install one of the older more secure versions of Firefox without it automatically updating at the time of the install? How do we actually block the automatic communication? How do we block popups as the popup blocker does not work at all? (it worked beautifully in version 63) How do we get it to clear the cache at exit and open with the cache at 0?

Good day guys and mozilla support forum!

Microsoft github asks for master password on each page and on each reload while I surf it (not trying login). It is anoying. And I suggest this is cause of Spying. And I have stored password for github but maybe now I don't want to login and to let github know that it is me.

1) Is there anything to stop it? Maybe should do some feature to stop asking password again?

2) If I provide master password what information can github see? Only github logins and passwords or other sites logins and passwords too? Analogy with instrument Container tabs. They can't see cookies each over. It is very good feature I think. Thanks.

P.S. Please, also, take a look on my old problem https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1277818#answer-1297849 I did some test and get results. And I think all the same it is a bug Because there are some solution kind of check recheck

The new firefox should have some malware protection by default? I thought I can use it without blocking addons, maybe a mistake?

On searching the web by google I came on a webpage, where another page suddenly opened and I could not leave with back button. Just another fake page opened.

I scanned the pages here (others are in the comment): https://www.virustotal.com/gui/url/518ffb491d9ae673e803a930d05aae5bd0db9536a93197bfb2a874de76009af2

Could there be some infection? What can I do now to be save?

I deleted cache inside firefox and after that a scan with clamscan. It could not find anything on my device.

Thank you

SSL client certificates do not work on Firefox 74.0 64-bit (Windows 10) and smartcards as expected. The smartcard gets accessed via PKCS #11 library.

When the client certificate is placed into the software security module, Firefox can send it to the requesting web server and it works as expected.

Once the very same certificate was successfully imported into a smartcard and removed from the software security module, authentication fails in Firefox with "SEC_ERROR_LIBRARY_FAILURE". The nginx web server reports: SSL_do_handshake() failed (SSL: error:14094438:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:tlsv1 alert internal error:SSL alert number 80) while SSL handshaking, client: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, server: 0.0.0.0:443

When using Chrome, the same client certificate from the same smartcard gets used and successfully connects to the web server.

Is there a known issue for this? How can this problem be narrowed down? Is there some kind of debug log file to get further information?

I access one TLS URL that's secured by user certificate. I had no problem importing the .p12 certificate into my profile's user certificate store ("Your Certificates"), and I could access the URL.

On the TLS URL system, for an unrelated reason, I had to generate a new certificate. My task was to remove the user certificate from my profile's certificate store, and replace with the new certificate.

The replacement was perfect: Delete the old certificate, import the new certificate. Enter the cert password, and see the new certificate, with its new serial ID listed in Firefox's certificate store.

When I try to visit the TLS secured URL, Firefox gives "Secure Connection Failed" and "SEC_ERROR_BAD_SIGNATURE". It says "Peer has an invalid signature."

I'm at a loss how to proceed troubleshooting this.

Firefox 68. A web site I visit daily always shows a popup asking me to accept cookies ("aceptar y continuar navegando"). It's annoying.

In options, I've selected "standard" for the cookie policy. I've emptied the cache, used the "forget this site" in the history for the web pages where the message pops up, and reloaded Firefox. It still prompts me.

Here's one of the pages it happens on: https://www.antena3.com/series/el-secreto-de-puente-viejo/avances/ Click "avances" or "momentos" and a large black box should pop up on the bottom of the screen, with the "aceptar y continuar navegando" in the lower right in a red rectangle.

Essentially, I want to tell the web site that I accept having cookies and have the web site remember my answer for the future.

Greetings!

I have a little problem with a SSL certificate with the same site in different langagues with the same versions of Firefox.

I installed a certificate from RapidSSL on a website and with the english client of Firefox 67.0.4, I got no SSL error at all. On the other hand, if I use the french client of Firefox 67.0.4 for the same website, I get the 'SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER' error code.

After more digging, I found out that in the english client, it seems that RapidSSL is automatically registered as a valid cert publisher and not in the french one...

Is that a known problem?

Thanks a lot and best regards

I am trying to reach my cell phone provider for support, but I cannot get the 'Click her to chat' button to do anything?? Now I am going to be forced to call them for support, and that is a monotonous process that involves being put on hold for hours, or having to get a call back later in the day. The issue (attached) is that the page has a small red box in the middle of the screen that is used to start a support session when you click it, but clicking that box does nothing now. I KNOW this is a Firefox browser thing, and am personally getting sick to death of all of the useless, pointless security features added to this browser, that only seem designed to make it impossible to comfortably browse / use the internet. I am seriously getting ready to switch to a more user friendly browser, in order to be allowed to use the internet without Firefox constantly deciding what I am and am not allowed to do online, unless they can fix this!!
